The latest bios for D250 (1.07) does not works. After some time it restarts the PC. I tried it with two different D250: the first time I tought that the problem was hardware related and I replaced the box. Now I have the same problem with another D250 which worked for more than two months with 1.02 version.
Are there any problems in downgrading the BIOS?

    Thanks a lot.

No, revert back to 1.06 this has proved to be stable for me on XP.

Done. It seems that I have no problems with 1.06 and Windows 7.
I'm pretty sure that the problem with 1.07 is related with temperature.

I am not really sure why 1.07 make the D250`s randomly reboot, I dont think it is related to temperature as mine would always reboot when idle. I do know that 1.06 has no issues so far, I have even tried running Quake 2 online via WiFi and although the Netbook did get very hot, it played perfectly, even in full screen resolution. I dont normally use the D250 for games and such, but curiosity got the better of me , and wanted to see if it would work.

I suspect it`s hardware orientated, there are several different configurations of D250, mine has N280 CPU & BT. Only ACER will really know for sure, and they only advise to upgrade the BOIS on their instruction, nor do we have any revision history to go on.

The moment I up the machine to 1.07 it will begin to randomly reboot and with little pattern or trace, no shutdown just a very rapid reboot, no logs, or anything else to follow. Reverting to 1.06 resolved the issue and to be truthful I/we dont know what 1.07 brings to the table, I am surmising it is a fix for a different configuration to my D250 hence the incompatibility.

could be right... mines a n270, so that could explain an incompatibility with newer revisions
