1.8" HDD Trouble

    I recently decided to upgrade the 8GB SSD on my AAO with a 1.8" HDD. I bought the drive (a 20GB Hitachi C4K60-20), and flipside ZIF cable to connect it. After re-assembling the machine, I booted to BIOS to learn that it was not detecting the HDD. I checked the connection and confirmed that the HDD was operating, although quite hot. After passing several days without coming up with a solution, I decided the upgrade was not worth the trouble and tried to replace the SSD and it's cable, but found that BIOS would not recognize it either. I'm out of options and without a laptop; any help/comments would be appreciated at this point.
