    Broadcom should work either out of the box, or with very little stress. If everything works fine, don't reinstall, just fix your issues up.

    People tend to reinistall too easy these days, sometimes you need to do some kind of magic on your own with kext (install/kextload them) or edit plists or params to make things work. This is what osx86 is about :p

    And yes, it's possible that the cam works, i have it working out of the box after a iDeneb Install. Might need to find the kext for it.

    Last night i sit down and ripped this IO802 and airportd apart, loading the Atheros to success. i pin pointed down the problem with the network scan to a function doing some weird ioctl stuff and counting it up to 24, than aborting with error -6 for this cards, if no kismet is used. If I find something I let you know.

    Maybe someone has an idea:

    while ( 1 )
    {
    usleep_UNIX2003(1000 * var_400);
    do_it_25_times += var_400; <--- here it counts
    if ( !ioctl(*(_DWORD *)param1, 0xC02069C9u, pointer_param1) )
    {
    v8 = 10000;
    while ( 1 )
    {
    --v8;
    if ( !v8 )
    break;
    sub_1432F(v30, v31 != 0);
    memset(v24, 0, 0x8Cu);
    memset(v26, 0, 0x400u);
    v27 = 1024;
    v28 = v26;
    if ( ioctl(*(_DWORD *)param1, 0xC02069C9u, pointer_param1) )
    goto LABEL_26;
    }
    ErrCode = -3;
    goto LABEL_31;
    }
    if ( *__error() != 16 && *__error() != 5 )
    goto LABEL_12;
    if ( do_it_25_times > 0x270F ) <--- here we die
    {
    ErrCode = -6;
    goto LABEL_31;
    }
    if ( *__error() != 16 )
    break;
    var_400 = 40;
    }

    Thanks for the replies, I have it all working now. I installed iDeneb 10.5.6 to get OS X with webcam then installed the kext from iAtkos V7 and all works now webcam and wifi seen as regular airport. Next question, would I be able to update to 10.5.7, 10.5.8 or 10.6 and keep the hardware working? If so, how?

    @dragon725:
    Could you post a kextstat from your system?
    To do so go to terminal, type "kextstat" and paste the result here.

    Excuse me, your Card has a Broadcom kext loaded, did you replace it? (Edit: sorry saw you got a model with broadcom)

    Would you mind to share some kext with me?

    - ACPIPlattform
    - kext for the webcam you added

    I would need these to check something. Could you send them to sam (a t) hackint0sh (dot) org ?

    Oh and I noticed your kext are not the latest ones from the update, did you downgrade your extensions folder?

    I am still on 10.5.6. the steps I took was: install ideneb 1.4, used very minimum extras, then i inserted the iAtkos V7 disc and only installed the kext from the guide on page 1, i did not install the os x part of iatkos. I did it that way since that is the only way I have been able to get a working cam and wifi card out of the box. If I do a straight install from iAtkos then the bcm43xx_enabler does not work. if i do the ideneb only then the enabler will get me wifi but no webcam. I have also tried to upgrade but it kills the wifi and redoing the enabler does not work.

    Updated my tutorial a little bit- changed link to the D250.zip file from mobile me to my actual website (http://bigplrbear.com) and added a little note about the system.kext and seatbelt.kext files.

    To those of you who managed to get D250's with Broadcom cards instead of Atheros cards- YOU ARE SO FU**ING LUCKY. D:
    To those of you have D250's w/ Atheros cards and want to replace it w/ a normal mini PCI-e card such as a Dell 1340- it won't work. They changed the placement of the motherboards components quite a bit, so the card is too tall.

    Ok, used this to install Snow leopard:

    http://osx.mechdrew.com/guides/nbi3.shtml

    Installed perfectly. But I get kernel panic at the last step.

    Boot, Installing Updates and NetbookInstaller

    I get the kernel panics when its installing the extensions.

    The funny thing is if I boot from the Netbook cd Snow Leopard starts fine. I have vid cam, sound, video card all working. Havn't had a chance to try the WIFI yet.

    Anyone help getting it to boot without the cd?

    Ok, think I figured it out. I didn't have my Extra folder setup right. I don't think I'm still right but it boots without the cd now. I have video, vid camera, sound.

    Working on WIFI!

    Edit:

    Tried for the last few hours unsuccessfully to get any kind of networking to work! Goin to install LEO back and copy my kext folder and see if that works

    Edit:

    Got SNOWY to take my IO80211FAMILY.kext and Snow see's the wireless, but I can't turn it on. Here are a few screens. Anyone one else interested and want to help work on this?

    Looks awesome. Do you mind making a new thread though? This is kinda off topic (Snow Leopard =/= Leopard)

    hello everyone, this is my first time using this forum and first post. I've followed all the steps mentioned including installing the voodoo 2 alpha 3 kernel. In "About this MAC" it still shows 1.67 Intel Core Solo (Missing the 2x as mentioned). Anyone know why this is? my install is on an acer d255 with an n450 atom, 2GB Mem.

    Do you have OSX86 tools? Google it if you don't. There is an option to alter the About This Mac material. You can write whatever you would like. :D
