My apologies if this has been asked or answered before ....

My A110-AW is running Retail 10.5.7 but with no internal mic input (specifically Skype). Is there a work-around or kext that will help?

    Kind Regards

    Sausages! But thanks Rory.

I think the AspireOne and I will soon part company. Great learning experience but no Airport in 10.5.8 and no mic in in 10.5.7 + no sleep is too much.

Dell Mini 9 or HP 1000?

    Kind Regards

No airport in 10.5.8? With what card?
My opinion, pay the extra and get an NB200. Best OS X netbook from my extensive research. But Mini9 is second best only becaus eno sleep with stock ssd. Cheap option though is the mini. Like the mini keyboard too. Surprisingly didnt like the NB200 chicklet that much. Thoought it was a great feature on paper, but in use, the mini has a nice kbd. The NB200's one seemed like a cheap imitation of a chicklet, unlike the real macbook ones!
My replacement will be either a base spec 17" MBP (That screen res is just epic, saw one in the apple store today, never played on them before, my heart was always set on a 13"), or a top spec MBA if I decide the 17" is too big and heavy!

    Hi Rory!!

DW1390 - tried every trick I could find but no go!!

Hey! Thanks for the recommendation. Now to show my ignorance: what's a chicklet?

    I shall now chase down a NB200

    Kind Regards

    Hey Hugh,

I have the same wifi card. I just had to run the attached script as root. (I got this from the insanely mac forum at some point)

BUT what is interesting is that booting (10.5.8) with -f gets Airport working but no trackpad. Whereas a conventional boot = no Airport but working trackpad.

    I really don't understand!!

Solved Airport Card recognition problem by powering off and removing the battery for a couple of minutes!

Great news!.. Did you see the other thread by BetaHal about the internal mic? It's so close, I need to dig into the kext and see if I can play with it. You have the D150, right?

Does any of these kexts solve the issue that every time you want to use the settings are reseted and need to be adjusted manually?
