I tried it and didn't work for me. It gets stuck with a corrupted image on screen and trackpad non working.
Im trying these 3 distros (xXx,iPC,iDeneb) and nothing worked with that update pkg.

I'll post here when I find a solution.

ok, ive manage to upgrade from 10.5.6 to 10.5.7 on iPC on my Recovery Partition. I've retraced my steps and like some of you, i did get a gray garbled up garbage screen which i dont see anything. and i managed to fix that. This is what happened to me as i updated. I extremely recommend not to follow what i did if you are multi-booting. And also i recommend that you have an image copy of your production OSX ready to go in case you mess up. I'm running a 9.5.0 voodoo kernel.

    So here we go:
    1) I downloaded the delta update (443MB).
    2) Installed as normal.
    3) Rebooted. Now, its only suppose to reboot once. I got an error and it keeps rebooting nonstop.
    4) Popped in my iPC installation DVD. Proceed to Customize. I checked all the patches/drivers on my original installation. I also unchecked the 10.5.6 installation package. So all i reinstalled are the drivers and patches. You'll notice, if you click on them, u'll just see upgrade - 0 bytes.
    5) After installation, it will reboot and it let me in my system. I saw the 10.5.7 upgrade and thought it worked nice. So i reboot again.
    6) After rebooting, my screen is now gray and garbage, and i was thinking how it happened. Restart again and boot using '-s'. this will go into single user mode. then do the /fsck and /mount as instructed on the screen. then
    Code:
    cd /System/Library/Extensions
    rm -r AppleIntel*
    cd ..
    rm Extensions.mkext
    shutdown -r now
this is suppose to delete the appleintelgma kext and the appleintelintegrated buffer. then delete the extensions.mkext and reboot.
    7) Afterwards, you should be able to go back in your system. Open the kext helper b7 and load part 1 of diablo's kext which contains the gma950 kext, the integrated kext and the natit kext. Reboot and you should be back to normal with a 10.5.7 update.

Have you noticed better battery life yet?

Also, do you think I could do the same for iDeneb?

hmm, i dunno about the battery life, but i did see something new. As for iDeneb, you can try if you have nothing else to lose and don't mind with a full install. But i did see theres already a 10.5.7 upgrade package for iDeneb already. I think you might want to give that a shot too.

another funny thing i noticed is the display/graphics. even though the vid driver is installed, the core image is software. thats suppose to be hardware accelarated. any clues?

    @yohko101

I might. I saw the link from this thread and the download link didnt work. I havent checked anywhere else yet. I have spent all week off and on getting iDeneb 10.5.6 back several times. The Dell 1390 WiFi has been a son of b***. Its been working when it decides to work. Pisses me off. Anyway I may try this again sometime when I have more patience.

    Thanks yohko101, step (6) deleting those kexts and re-installing Diablo's Part1 AppleIntelGMA950.kext
    AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext fixed it for me.

    10.5.7 running fine!

I updated my AAO and installed Diablos GMS950 Kext and IntegratedBuffer but I have no Quartz Extreme support like Yohko101. Is used to be active on Ideneb 10.5.6, before the update. I do have QuartzGL support still. Does anyone knows what to do to get Quartz Extreme back. The scrolling and better and smooth with it.

    Hi all,

I upgraded my xxx, and have the screen resolution issue too!

I tried the 950.pkg, Paul´s kext and Diablo´s Kext, and have the same result on the three: Gray screen with nothing more...

    Any one knows something more?

    Thank you all!

    Hi guys.
I updated mine (AA1 150) but had same issue with gray screen. Installed again iatkos 10.5.6, good for me that I have an external 250 GB HDD for TimeMachine backup, so all files was restored. I don't try anymore to update to 10.5.7 until everything is fine. 10.5.6 run's very well. Hopefully soon after Snow Leopard comes out, we will be able to put it on our AA1's. :)

Doesn't work here either. Tried ALL possible methods to update and always get corrupted grey screen no matter what kexts used.
I'll wait for a distro with 10.5.7 included. I hope iDeneb (my favorite) updates soon...

i figured out why we're getting the blue screen of death :p

we're actually missing one more file along with this pack. this is what i did after trying out a bunch of different packages. delete the AppleIntelGma stuff from before. Delete the Integratedbuffer. Then, install the wind msi package. After that, this is the important step. Go back to diablo's part 1 kext. Reinstall the Natit.kext. reboot, and press f8. boot with the option '-f'. after wards, you should see the login screen and you'll have CI/QE back again
