10.8V versus 11.1v batteries - Compatible?

    I purchased an Acer Aspier 10.1 inch netbook (A0531h - 0Bk) in South Africa and am currently using it in the USA.

    My AC adapter just fine but the battery life in my 2200mAh battery is terrible. I would like to upgrade to a 6 or 9 cell battery and the prices in the US are very affordable. However, all the batteries I can find are 11.1v and my battery is labelled as a 10.8v (UM09A31). Will the 11.1v replacement battery work in my netbook and will the 19v output AC adapter charge the 11.1v battery correctly?
