    Hi,
Today I wanted to use my Aspire One (AO110, Linpus) to connect to a projector to do a presentation. But I couldn't find how reduce resolution to 800x600.
I get easily dual display in display menu, but I didn't have other choice than 1024x600. How I do that?
    Thanks
    Mel
PS Also, my presentation was always interrupt by a black screen because I didn't move mouse. Is it a setting of open office or else where? I used before OO on win on a "battery" profile and I never get this problem. Re-thanks.

You can open a terminal and type 'xrandr -s 800x600' probably, I don't use Linpus but that should be pretty universal.

    Hi,
Sorry for long delay, I had access to a projector only this week. It works fine, it displays 800x600. But, I was surprise by an another problem. My windows of open office presentation fits correctly on 800x600 screen. But when I start diaporama (F5 key), it cuts a part of slide on right side! No idea why.

Also, for second time, I experiment very, very slow reaction when I change slide. I tried 3 differents presentation (2 odp, 1ppt) and it's same. On first opening, its react normally and it last couple of minutes (did'nt time it). But after a longer period (30 min or up), it becomes so slow... But I don't know if it's related to memory, vga or openoffice. I tried let openoffice open for hours without data projector connected, and I never had this problem.
So if someone have ideas... I would like to use aspire for presentation because in state it's almost unusable...
    Thanks
    Mel

    Hi
I use "xfce-setting-show display" to configure an external monitor.
And the relevant part of my xorg.conf is:
    ----------------
    Section "Screen"
    Identifier "Screen0"
    Device "Videocard0"
    Monitor "Monitor0"
    DefaultDepth 24
    SubSection "Display"
    Viewport 0 0
    Depth 24
    Modes "1024x768" "1024x600" "800x600" "640x480"
    Virtual 2048 1368
    EndSubSection
    EndSection
    ------------------
The side effect may be due to the refresh rate (60 or 75hz).
    Hope it helps.
