Ditto. Have been looking for replacement batteries and saw these yesterday. Came visiting here to see whether anybody had tried them. Or put their back out carrying them around.

    I suppose I'll buy one.
I've been getting tired of my nine cell lasting only over half the day when in full use.

I have one already. It seems to be simple relation between amount of cells and time AA1 operates:

    3-cell >> 3 hours
    6-cell >> 6 hours
    9-cell >> 9 hours
    12-cell >> 12 hours...

My AA1 actually is "immortal" now. Recommend as a good stuff...

LOL, you found an infinite cell battery? I'll go searching for the "highlander" edition.

Do these things weigh more? I assume they do, but a significant amount more?

Unfortunately YES. And it is significant difference. Battery is much heavier then AA1 it self. But that's kind of compromise for me as I'm traveling a lot with it so I do not always have a chance to use charger. AA1 with this battery looks also really funny - it's like very small PC attached to massive battery... :)

That's strange, my nine-cell usually lasts about 11-12 hours. That isn't even complete idling hours.\
That includes running N64 emulators, demanding software and such. (Maybe it's 'cause I take extra good care for it, and did the charge and discharge method when I first got it.)

Edit: In fact, I hardly even take my PSU anywhere these days. Only when I'm gone for more than a day. And when I do charge I use one of those phillips home theater surge protectors.

That's average. My one works about 8-10h with mixed usage: bit of surfing, USB modem, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi etc...

Assuming this thing actually works over time (i.e. the warranty is enforceable) look at the size of the plug-in section of the battery and compare it to the slot on the Acer. Apart from extra weight, the computer will be a pimple on the side of a battery. I'd rather use the AC than lug something like this around. How many hours a day do people use their netbooks?

You'll be surprised... I use my netbook almost 12h a day - this is about every day work time for me and machine - I work as a network engineer playing with Cisco lately, radio networks etc. It's never in office - mostly I'm away from building with sockets... For me 12-cell battery is great, but I agree - laptop looks like little something attached to huge battery ;)

Could someone please post a picture of a 12-cell battery attached to the netbook?

I took a look at some loose battery pictures on eBay, but I do not know how big it is compared to a 9-cell battery (which I already have and is defective).

By the way, hk-zhaoyu told me his 12-cell batteries are 8800 mAh. Does anyone know of a seller that sells actual 10400 mAh batteries?

    Thank you in advance.

I am confused if to get either a 9 cell or 12 cell battery I will be using it approx 6 - 8 hours per day conflicting information from everywhere. I am usually just surfing however the odd game here and there. Would a 6 cell be fine for me?

    Thx.
