I've got an Acer Aspire One - the 120Gb / 512 Mb model. I've installed Ubuntu on it, and am very happy with it, except for one thing:

The hard drive seems to be hyper-sensitive to movement. Last night, I was watching a video on the machine on my lap. I picked it up and moved it onto the table with the video still going (in Totem). The video stops playing and just jitters, and the machine stops responding to mouse or keyboard input. I have to force a restart. This happens a few times a day.

I'll probably have to call Acer support over this, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has had similar problems.

Almost certainly faulty - I carry mine all over the place with no problems.

I dunno what I've done, but it seems to have resolved itself. If it comes back, then I'll call Acer and get it repaired/replaced.
