I have an Acer 721 connected to a Samsung 42" Plasma TV via HDMI cable at 1280X720. When I have the same connection to an HP Pavillion notebook the TV screen is filled edge to edge. When I do the same with the 721 I get the display letterboxed about 3/4" top, bottom, and sides. It's not a matter of getting the player to fill the window, the mouse actually hits the edge of the letterbox. No matter what settings I tweak for the TV's picture size options or in the ATI catalyst control center or for screen resolutions can resolve the problem. Given that the HP seems to display properly and the 721 does not, I'm guessing it's down the the graphics card? At the moment the only solution that seems available to me will be to return it.
