Hello. I just bought Acer aspire One laptop. And I have one problem. I desperately need to modify screen resolution from default 1024x600 to 1280x800. The pc is from my job, and if I bought it vainly, my boss will smash into my head.
Please help. Is there anything I can do to modify the resolution?
    Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp

There's nothing you can do about the native resolution of the monitor on the aspire one. You can only probably buy an external monitor that will support this resolution.

Tks man. But all I have to do is to fit one damn program that not fit into the screen. For that, I can not buy another monitor. The budget was pretty clear, and I made a mistake buying this. I read this viewtopic.php?f=11&t=671 but didn't help me. I try it on a Sony LCD TV and it didn't work. Tomorrow i'll try on a monitor.
Anyway If anyone has a solution, please help me. :(

Keep the A1 (from your own pocket) and buy an appropriate machine for your job.

Is this a Windows model or a Linux model?

For Linux, you can make a virtual desktop size that is bigger than the actual monitor which scrolls when you reach the edge of the viewable screen.

For Windows, I don't think you can do that, but I do remember reading about a driver for the EEE 701 which makes a 800x600 desktop fit on the 800x480 screen, presumably scaling the screen, perhaps this driver could be modified to do the same trick on the Aspire One to increase the resolution. However I don't know about how you would go about doing that, but perhaps someone else will.

Otherwise, is it at all possible to get this program modified to fit the available screen resolution?

There's also software that creates a Virtual desktop and scales larger resolutions to fit the screen of my pocket pc, Maybe you could explore this avenue? I also think you are more likely to find this software for windows than linux.

if it is windows xp installed you might try running the driver install again but with switches
    setup.exe -res {x_pixels x y_pixels x bits x vert_refresh} so your's would be
    setup.exe -res 1280 x 800 x 16 x 60 that will give you 16bit colour or you could subsitute 32 for 16 for 16mill colour

not sure if this will work and if it does how long it will take till you fry lcd i don't have my ONE yet to try for you but i have gotten it to work on my intel board that uses an atom cpu and same graphics drivers as ONE with a 7" lcd monitor, the monitor is only good for 640x480 but using the switch i could get that lcd to 1024x768. i didn't try any higher just a thought for you to try SNO
