Maybe this is a dumb question but my ZG5 shows 1024 MB on my BIOS screen. If I add a 1 Gb SODIMM in the optional slot I should get 2 Gb but users only experience 1536 MB on the BIOS screen. What happens to the other 512k? Is it a hardware limitation or a BIOS limitation?

    just curious

You have 1g on the bios screen because you have 512 meg on the motherboard and 512 meg module in ram upgrade slot.

When you replace the 512 meg module for a 1g module you will have 1.5g

    Thank you jerryt,

In all my searches, including the upgrade vids on utube, the slot was always empty when the case was opened. Not one of them showed a 512k SODIMM installed.

Thank you for making sense of a non logic.
