I have an idea I wanted to toss out for contemplation.

We all know that 1.5G is the physical limit on the ram for the AA1. In other ram related hacks (other devices) I have seen where it is possible to piggy back Ram Chips or replace with higher capacity chips.

Anyone think it might be possible to do this with the AA1's onboard RAM (obviously not your hand tools only upgrade)? Maybe find an existing Make and Model (over the counter) cheap stick of RAM with conpatible chips that can be had for a donor. I have a dremel and a jack-hammer laying around.

    Just a thought.

Even if successful replacing - without BIOS patching AA1 will not accept additional onboard memory. There is an area in BIOS containing SPD data for onboard RAM (two areas, one for SAMSUNG one for HYNIX chips) - so the memory controller always "tuned" for 512MB onboard.
