I do NOT want a sleeve.
I require a case with at least two pockets.
I found a Targus Messenger but it is for 15.4" screens.

I finally found a decent case this morning at Target -- in the luggage section of all places. Cost was $19.99. It's ltagged the Embark, Deluxe Toiletry Bag (two handles). I keep the netbook in the exact center of the bag (does not reside in a pocket.)

    Pros:

What I like about it, is that when you open it up, one side is a HUGE pocket (the portable cd-rom drive, cables and cds fit perfectly.) On the other side it has 4 pockets:
-- Pocket one holds my mouse,
-- Pocket two has the ear plugs and retracting internet cable,
-- Pocket three has the usb hub,
-- Pocket four holds the ir/usb stick and 2 usb memory sticks.

There are also two outside pockets -- one houses the power supply and cables.

It's a perfect fit for the acer aspire one (where the Belkin 7" netbook "sleeve" did not fit it.)

    Cons
I would like some real padding in it. To be safe, I added a strip of foam padding to the bottom of the bag where the netbook sits.

Otherwise, it's a perfect fit. So as of right now, my netbook has it's own home.

I ended up buying an Init dv-203 10" case for a portable DVD player.
Perfect fit and lots of pockets.
    FutureShop in Canada.

I just picked up one of these at OfficeDepot for $9.99. The One fits in the front half and the back half houses a external slim DVD drive, external Segate FreeAgent USB HD, the AC adapter, a car adapter and all associated cables. It has hand grips but no shoulder strap. It has decent padding. It comes with straps to mount it in a car to view a DVD player and with a little ingenuity; the straps can be used as a shoulder strap. It is a Case Logic PDVK-9.

This may be a better choice if you need a shoulder strap.

I'm happy with the PDVK-9, especially at that price!
