2GB RAM! Possible?

    Have you even read either this thread or the other one concerning it (http://www.aspireoneuser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=7352)?

    This has been tried and was unsucessful. I personally just cut the clock lines which effectively does the same thing. The problem is that the onboard bank of ram doesn't have an SPD eeprom to give the RAM parameters to the bios, they are hard coded in. So it's still expecting a ram module to be there, but encounters a problem with the ram chips and doesn't POST.

    NICE! Thanks.

    Yeah, I've been wandering around in my uncompressed bios image for a week or so now. When I saw how much stuff is in there .. weird stuff, like the serial console material and what not -- I got to thinking. I realize that a great portion of that may not be applicable to (much less accessible on) the AAO but it is interesting nonetheless.
