Unless mydigitaldiscount.com have managed to fix Marty's flux capacitor, and driven the lorry into the future and back, I am afraid that you are going to be a bit disappointed.

    Runcore states that models 16GB: RCP-I-Z5016-C, 32GB: RCP-I-Z5032-C, and
64GB: RCP-I-Z1864-C is only compatible with the HP mini 1000 series at the moment, but that they will be compatible with the AAO at a later date.
    http://www.runcore.com/content/products ... =16GB-64GB

I tend to believe Runcore over mydigitaldiscount, but ofcourse it might be that Runcore just haven't updated their site yet. But if I were you, I'd contact mydigitaldiscount, and get verified that they have taken their delorean into the future and back ;)

for use with HP Mini 1000 only.

So lets see how it goes. (fingers crossed)

The Runcore site has said 'soon to be compatible' for ages. The comments they made on TweakTown about the problem being fixed were posted just the other week. Give it a short while, 'official' confirmation could be just around the corner! Followed by shipment of product hopefully!

Today, I received mine from mydigitaldiscount and it's working. Although I mentioned that it was for an acer one when ordering, like Runcore forum recommends, I was a bit afraid because mydigitaldiscount no longer has acer one on the list.

32Gb Runcore and just finished installing Windows 7.

I will post benchmarks and some more details after finishing installation.

Cool. I never mentioned that mine was for the aspire one. I hope mine is ok. But I do see that they have changed their site again and it no longer says compatible with the aspire one.

My Digital Discount SUCK!! I contacted them to let them know that it was for the aspire one and they told me that my order had been cancelled already and that it was not compatible with the aa1 anyway!

Never ordering from those guys again!

That's strange. For some reason mine is working perfectly.

I had some problems with Windows 7, but I believe that wasn't related to the SSD. With Windows XP no problems.

    Here are the benchmarks :

Yes, it runs much better. I had the slower SSD (Intel) so the difference it's huge. I tried xp and other linux versions on the intel, but it was slow with it all. I was only satisfied the original Linpus.

Windows 7 installed really fast. I can't tell about XP, because I installed it from a ghost image.

Benchmarks are not as good as the ones shown for HP1000, but I really happy with the card.

Synchron, I'm curious which model you have. Is it a 110? and if so could you please post which bios version you have.

I'm interested in speeding up my 110's storage and I'd really appreciate knowing whether this kit is compatible with my rig.

I have a Super Talent 32GB SSD on its way. This looks to be the perfect drop-in replacement. Shame it took a year for them to become available! Although fortunately the speed of Atom processors and the amount of RAM netbooks have hasn't changed much over the last 12 months - keeping the 110 as good as any other netbook performance-wise.

These Super Talent units seem to be great news for Acer-owning fans of solid state technology and true ultra-portability!

My runcore stopped working. I believe it was never 100% stable. It worked with XP for a while, but it freezed from time to time.

I tried to install Windows 7 again and it stopped detecting the disk in the middle of the installation. Sometimes it would install but it won't boot.

I'm not sure if it's incompatiblity, zif cable problem or just a bad unit.

But I would recommend all to go for the new Super Talent instead of the runcore.

I just installed the 32gb supertalent. This is a different machine. Sooo fast now.

    Code:
    khunt@khunt-aa1:~$ sudo hdparm -Tt /dev/sda

    /dev/sda:
     Timing cached reads: 1126 MB in 2.00 seconds = 563.13 MB/sec
     Timing buffered disk reads: 172 MB in 3.03 seconds = 56.80 MB/sec
    khunt@khunt-aa1:~$

    Here is a better test:-

    Code:
    khunt@khunt-aa1:~$ dd count=1k bs=1M if=/dev/zero of=/home/khunt/test.img
    1024+0 records in
    1024+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 62.3764 s, 17.2 MB/s

Hi, I'm just looking at getting the super talent 32gb SSD to upgrade my A110, but have seen some confusing comments about the cable needing replacing.

Can you confirm if you needed to get a new cable or does it plug into the existing one without any issues.

    Many thanks,
    Frogo

    I have the A110 8gb SSD, 1.5gb ram.

I have the SuperTalent in my AAO. It is a direct drop-in, and uses the existing cable. Tripled the data transfer rates of the crappy Intel, and with the current version of Flashfire, throughput averaged 50MB/s.
