    Hi everyone,

I will be doing the 3G mod on my 751h as soon as the parts arrive. I have ordered everything I need except for the antenna.

I'm thinking the best spot for placement would be inside the LCD screen bezel. But what type of (ebay) antenna would you advise?
I've seen the small U-shaped ones that get stuck to the modem itself but I fear they will not work very well. The modem I have bought is identical to the one tnkgirl used in her mod so I believe it only has the "main" connection, no aux.

Is there a difference between antennas with a blue or a red cable? I couldn't find anything different about them except for wire-length maybe. Do you think shortening the antenna wire for optimal integration/placement will influence the reception in any way?

I haven't checked out the solder spots for the SIM card holder yet...hoping the pin-out is identical to what tnkgirl posted.

    Thanks for that.
So you're saying: use a mobile phone antenna. Not a bad idea..;)

How about using one of these?

Can anyone tell me what the deal with having two antennas (main and aux) is all about? Does this have anything to do with A-GPS?

This one is actually the same. You need to know only what type of antenna connector is going to be on 3G WWAN card - usually it is U.FL...

    Thanks,

I will just try one of those then.

Got hold of the 751h schematic so the pin-out for the SIM card shouldn't be a problem anymore ;).
