3G can't running

    I just modification my AO to become 3G machine by put my U881 (run as dongle) MC 8781 module on new socket ePCI also I install SIM card socket. Tho AO can't detect the module.
    Any sugesstion to make 3G running ?

    Check soldering. I'm sure there must be something wrong - that's most of the problems with soldered sockets... Check also power to SIM and miniPCIe...

    I don't think so with soldering because on off condition I check by ohm meter every pin of ePCI is have connection, is it possible if USB line to ePCI is not acvtived yet by BIOS.

    There is nothing to do with BIOS. All you have to do is properly solder miniPCIe connector and SIM card holder to motherboard, short pads to get voltage to both and USB signals and voila. Problems with soldering are most commons for this kind of jobs - that's why I suggested to check them again...

    Melhire I found somethig for make MC8771 recognized by AO, actually shift right switch for wifi locked to shift left after I cut locker than by shift left I can enable/disable 3G. But other problem come on 3G watcher said No SIM card, I suspect my SIM socket so many mechanical and electrical problem, may be somebody in the forum have proper SIM socket for AO. FYI I used socket from AVX wich pin odd must be swap with pin eventother thing is push - push mechanic already damage. Only ano more step help me please.

    Perfect. You just confirmed my theory about switching ON/OFF WWAN card by cutting voltage to miniPCIe pin 20 :) I was planning to test it my self but you're first ;)

    There is some problem with SIM card holder pinout - look at the pictures from links above - pins must match...

    Can you tell me please where you get miniPCIe socket?? What height it is?? Any links to the shop??

    Melhiore, i bought mini e-pci from Farnell with Order Code: 1509396, Manufacturer Part No: 679109000 (Molex). If you don't mind I have another one mini e-pci, PM me to inform your address and I try send to you by FOC for friendship among AOuser. I still hunting proper SIM card holder mey be I will contact directly to Acer on my country.
