Guys, I've got Tiny7 on my AOA110 and it works great except for my 3G Usb dongle that doesn't. Drivers work fine as well as the software that came with it but I can't estabilish a connection. I'm guessing it must me something to do with the services that have been removed from Win7 in order to make Tiny7 small and "performant". Is it possible to add the service that can make this work? I don't wan´t to go back to TinyXp since Tiny7 has a great performance. Thanks in advance

Why not just dump Tiny7 and install the real thing? Using a "trimmed" OS that someone else has built can always lead to problems. As you've said there's more then likely a missing service.

The problem is that I don't have enough space to install the "real thing" . I'm using the stock 8Gb SSD and installing 7 means upgrading the HDD wich I'm trying to avoid since this is only my "couch" netbook :).

I've search the web and couldn't find a solution for this.

I suppose you have your problem solved by now, as I just came across this old post. Anyhow, (maybe for others) I have the same configuration with 8Gb SSD and a 3G dongle modem and it works perfect on Tiny win7. I think you should have a closer look at your connection settings.

    Hi Theo

I have Tiny 7 and also find that my 3G dongle won't work. Also I have just tried to use a GPS dongle and that will not work either. It definitely looks as though something necessary has been stripped out when creating Tiny 7. Both of these items worked on this computer when I had TinyXP installed.

Any tips on settings that I should check would be much appreciated.

    thanks

You can check in your services manager and device manager for any Telephony services. 3G dongles are recognised as Dial-Up connections. You will be able to install drivers and it may seem like the device will work, but without the appropriate Telephony and Dial-Up connections features being completely and properly installed, you will more than likely be unable to complete a 3G or any other Dial-Up connection, or at least you will have great difficulty in achieving sed connection.
