after going through endless problems, trying to get online, i now find that 3g, wont allow any adult sites, im not talking about serious porn here, but even medical forums with any mention of sex are banned...

is there a way around this, and why do 3g feel they have the right to ban a customer from viewing a perfectly legal site with an adult nature?

This is surely not AT&T's 3g you are talking about? I hate to have to admit it but I have connected to a few sites with adult content with no problem with AT&T and my AA1.

Sounds to me like your 3G operator has chosen to limit your network access by using some kind of keyword-list. It's likely that the connections use a forced proxy that does the cencoring and there's no way for you to go around it. Contact your operator and ask them if they're doing it. And if they are, try to find out if it's even legal for them to do so.

I had a similar issue with T-Mobile in the UK when I was there a year and a half ago.

All I had to do was go to a T-Mobile store and show identification to show that I was 18 or older, and they removed the restriction.

I agree that the restriction is pretty aggressive. I can't be bothered to surf porn with 3G, but lots of stuff that wasn't all that risque was being blocked.
