    yes, it is available though it appears there is a shortage at this time. Try CDW or Amazon. SourceIT is out of stock for a bit and they get directly from Acer.

    How can I figure which battery kind I have, since I have a newer model, and supposedly acer started shipping with those lately.

    The 6-cell battery sticks out the back about an inch.

    Look at the battery itself. It should show 5200mah and not 2200mah. Runtime is also a good indicator, you won't get too much over 2hrs on the 3 cell unless you really drop everything and turn things off.

    fair enough. Two bad indicators, no back sticking and only 2200mah

    Yeah, six cell. The nine cell should offer even better runtime but I'm wary as I haven't seen good photos of the nine installed. Anyone got some nine cell pix?

    Pics of the 9 cell were posted in page 2 of this thread:

    We really should consolidate all these battery threads into a sticky or wiki or something.

    Re: 9-cell battery

    I just recieved my 9-cell battery yesterday from the guy in Hong Kong on E-Bay. Only $58 U.S. for the battery, a $15 for postage to Mexico. I thought these were really good prices.

    First impressions:
    ===============
    1. It is quite a bit heavier, of course, than the normal battery. But I want to be able to give 6 or 7 lectures without having to recharge...
    2. One thing also is there must be a way to re-program the battery monitor to reflect this new battery. (Yes, I have upgraded to the latest Acer Bios). With all battery-saving functions enabled, at 100% charge it says "7 hours 11 minutes". And the first alleged "two hours" lasted 45 minutes!
    3. The computer fits fine in the factory slip case, as long as you don´t put it in battery first.

    I plan to run down the battery fully and recharge a few times, to see what I can improve.
