6-Cell WinXP - in UK?

    Hi guys... it looks like the 160GB 6-cell AA1 is starting to be listed in the US. Any ideas when the UK will get some and the price in £GBP? How long was the delay between UK and USA at the original launch time?

    if that's the case, I'll take one thanks!!! Are there any reliable webistes that ship to the UK? And also, how does customs work, what do they charge etc...

    TBH I think it will be more trouble than its worth importing it £275.00 shipped is a very rough estimate. I personally am going to wait for the UK release poss mid October and hopefully the price will be in the region of £275 anyway

    I have managed to get a few thngs from the US avoiding customs and duty but only with the cooperation of the sender marking the parcel/package as 'gift' If you have contacts in the US it can be done. Web sites like Amazon.com and Platcom.com in the US will not play that game!

    UK customs wull charge VAT and duty.......as you may know VAT is 17.5% duty will range between 3-7% then there is a £15 handling fee...all in all it ain't worth it IMHO


    As to te expected UK price - at the moment AA1 1GB 129HDD XP are around £289-300 approx cheaper for Linux so for 6cell 160hdd? my guess...£295-320 in that region altho would not be suprised to see £350 at some vendors!

    When the market has settled abit I will get a 6cell ..when they are cheaper not forgetting 3 cell batt will be cheaper still!
    120HDD is fine for my use can't really see the need of 160gb...when was the last time you filled that space up?
