Hi. I have just received my 7200mAh battery from an ebay seller. The labelling on the battery says 7200mAh, 11.1V. However, in all the battery programs I am using (eg Battery Eater, Battery bar, etc.), it is showing as 73260mWh, so divided by 11.1, this gives me 6600mAh.

My question is this: does the battery software read the power/ amp hour rating from something programmed in to the battery, and hence could be giving a false reading, or is it likely that the readings are in fact accurate, and I have a 6600mAh battery instead? Is there any other way to find the true rating? The software is showing the battery as 3-cell, but I doubt this to be the case. Cheers

I bought what I thought was a 5200mAH 6-cell battery from an ebay seller in Hong Kong.

Notebook Battery Info reports the battery as 4400mAH (48840mWH).

IMHO, 2200mAH cells have been used to assemble the battery instead of the 2600mAH cells that claim to have been used.

The seller has agreed to provide a full refund (including return postage costs) if I return the battery to him.

I have the same issue... the sticker shows as a higher mAh battery but in the computer it reports as 6600.
I'm not picky about it though, because between the two batteries, the original and the big battery, it's long enough for me.

You were lucky that he/she offered a full refund!

I got a 6600 mAh battery labelled 7800 mAh (and I paid for 7800 mAh) battery from dealextreme  . Don't know if dealextreme's quality of service can match that of the Hong Kong eBay seller you bought from.

Do you have a photograph of the battery and it's label?
It's frustrating to have a battery that has designed capacity lower than mentioned on the label.
