VLC, WM player, Mplayer and KM player are all the same. They use ffmpeg codecs to decode video thus they're almost incapable of playing 720P videos with default setings.

If you're want to play hi-def videos on AAO, you'll need CoreAVC codec. In Mplayer or KMplayer, make sure you set the player to use external codec for VC-1 and H.26x. Select CoreAVC codec as the external codec.

Thanks for the advise. I got hold of CoreAVC codec and used it in KMPlayer.

It took a few attemps, but my clips are now running fine with just the odd drop out. This is just what I need to be able to check my clips are ok whilst on holiday :D
