[8.04] Boot times

    Are all these times from the SSD model? Ive ordered mine with the 120 hard drive, will wipe windows dont worry :D , but I was wondering if the boot times here are all from SSD or the hard drive model... or if it makes much difference.

    I've compiled my own kernel; see here my results (19 secs); I'm still tuning ...

    What tweaks did you make in your custom kernel? removed unused device drivers? Another good one to go on a Wiki page...

    19 seconds is really fast!

    14 seconds of boottime after profile :D
    The 'splash' parameter is removed from the bootline because the display is 'blinking' on boot

    I would post the .config file of the Kernel tonight so you could see my Configuration and tune it for you're own configuration.

    Thanks a lot, that is VERY valuable information (I plan on buying my own AAO soon).

    Now I'm in the process of deciding if it's gonna be HDD or SDD :)
