8.9" 1280x768 screen possible?

    Just out of curiosity, what do people think to the possibility of replacing the AA1's screen with a 1280x768 8.9" display?

    Presumably it'd fit ok; but would the graphics chipset support it?

    If you can't get it to work it won't be the graphics card problem- I run it at 1336x768 connected to my TV.

    If you can I would love to know how, 1024x600 is not enough for me!

    I have considered this before, because the HP Mininote's have such a screen. Unfortunately the HP part uses CCFL backlighting and our Acers are LED. As I remember, the dimensions were slightly different too.
    This would still be really interesting if there was another screen that worked.

    this would be a very interesting mod, but i doubt you could find a screen with both the connector being the same as well as the size and thickness :?

    bump.

    My sister has broken the screen on her AA1. I have no problem replacing it, but it again got me thinking about the possibility of upgrading one of mine to an 8.9" 1280x768 screen.

    In the 2 years that have passed since I originally posted this question has anyone else given consideration to the feasibility of pulling off such a mod?
