OK - so why not use the update manager to go to 9.10.

Then download an image of the NBR disk and use the USB Creator app to write to the USB stick? I did this and then did a clean install on to my AAO.

    Very impressed so far!

TBH I did it via the update manager in 9.04. I didn't need to go anywhere near the command line.

    From another forum:
    Edit /etc/apt/sources.list: s/jaunty/karmic/
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get upgrade
    reboot
    sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

It took about 50 minutes to download the packages and then about 6 hours to do the upgrade.

Installing the clean 9.10 took about an hour this morning - including reformatting the SSD. My machine is far far more responsive with a clean install than with an upgrade....

    Your mileage may vary!
