So I have decided on the Ugoole model, and have just one question. Has anyone gotten the blue color one? and if so, does it match the acer blue? or would I be better off getting the black one?

I found this thread very useful so I will try to help.
Bought my 7200mAh few days ago, still waiting for it to arrive, blue version. I will post my own fotos when it arrives, until then.. the images from the ebay seller
    [IMG]
I hope the image works... otherwise I can link the ebay page.

Heh hee... I purchased my 7200mAh from the same seller (the black one). It was shipped promptly and left Hong Kong on 1/3/09. Still waiting for it to arrive on the west coast. Will report back when it comes...

Received mine yesterday. It took 6 days from Hong Kong to California (+3 days since the auction close). The construction feels solid. When I installed it, it showed 98% charged. I charged it fully and have been playing DivX files to deplete it, so that I can condition the battery with 3 cycles. It is taking FOREVER to deplete this thing... Needless to say, I am very happy about it. I purchased the extended battery so that we can use the AAO to entertain our toddler during long trips. With the capacity of 160GB hard drive for DivX files, we'll be carrying his entire DVD collection with us everywhere.

What is the software that shows the brand, amperage, etc of the battery that everyone is using around here? Just want to gather some information to report back, so that we can determine which eBay seller is selling which brand, etc.

    Thanks!

Just ordered this one as well!! I currently have the 2200 and it sucks a lot trying to take notes for four classes with only 1:50 battery life! This should give me all the time I need :)

here's the link to the battery info application, the "current battery info" pane is correct but some of the info from the "battery system info" pane I believe is pulled from the controller firmware that may be outdated.

    http://www.batteryinfo.de.vu/

    good luck,

btw , I think that the black version is a better look for the blue AAO because the base accent color is black.

Ok, I just received the battery, 7200mAh, blue color.
It's more difficult than I expected to get a good image, at least with indoor light.

Damnit.. I got a battery from 100digi and it's no good. I started to charge it when it got here and it only went to 77%. Then I decided to fully discharge it and try again! This morning my light was nice and green telling me the battery is fully charged. Turn it on and sure enough it's only at 31%, fu*k... I've contacted the seller telling him my problem, guess we'll see whether 100digi is true to his 12 month warranty!

My nine cell came in the mail today. They sent it registered mail for some reason.

Popped out the stock battery and attached the new one. It certainly adds a little more heft to the computer, but nothing awful. I actually kind of like the angle change it adds. It read as about 40% charged and estimated 3 hours and 50 minutes remaining. It's charging now, and I'll play around with it at school this afternoon to see how it holds up. I'll get a few pictures up soon if I can.

    Desroches-

sorry to hear about the battery, it seems that all failures that I've read about occur right out of the box, essentially it arrives charged, you go to recharge and nope.....

I haven't heard about any failures yet that have occurred after successful charges. It does make you wonder what if any burn-in type testing occurs. I received a battery that experienced similar problems from a different vendor and they promptly sent a replacement.

    regards

    Desroches-

Any chance you can update your experience with 100digi - did they come through with a replacement? I assume they required you to pay the cost of sending the defective battery back to them. Please confirm, as this may be helpful to deciding on which supplier to buy from (and also works as a discipline on sellers just ignoring purchaser problems). Thanks.

Well I got an e-mail back very quickly which pleases me! The seller seems to be pretty awesome. Here's my message and his. He's Chinese, so I tried to express my problem to him in the most straight forward way without too much mumbo jumbo.

    My message to them:

    Respone!:

So I'll give it a whirl and see what the result is. I'm from Canada and we just had a nasty spell of -40C weather which might have affected it in the mail somehow... The seller seems pretty legit, but we'll find out in a couple days whether he will actually send a replacement.

    ******UPDATE***********!!!!!!!!
Ha, ok so I've been unplugging it and plugging it back in over and over and it's slowly worked its way past 31% I was using batteryinfo and it would go up 0.1% each time. That didn't make sense so I did that for a while and then decided after I got to 32% that i should get phsyical. I took it out and started smacking the ends into my palms, not too hard though. Then i started squeezing it on the fat part in the middle and could feel the batteries. I squeezed closer to one end heard a 'click'. at first this worried me.... but then i plugged it in and it started going again (i expected it to stop after another 0.1% was gained). This time it didn't stop!! I can say that it's now at 34.5 and still going. I'm going to play a match of starcraft and see if it continues to gain :) oh, there's 34.6! I'll update later on.

I got mine from 100digi also, seems to be working fine. Unloaded to 6% and charged again without problem, but is good to know that "getting physical" with the battery is a possible solution  maybe the rough transport can displace something inside and some smacking solves the problem.

Ok well nevermind, the battery is still messed up. It will now charge to "100 %" but it will discharge to 70 or so then just die. I'm uploading a picture of the graph and how it dies at 70 % and also uploading the info from Battery Eater. It tells me the battery is only a 3 cell!! Take a look!

i got a 7200mah from ebay seller haobattery . Died after the second discharge. I did however lower the charge to pretty much zero however, so maybe they dont have any protection for this? i dont really know much about it. Anyway im in the process of negotiating a refund.

After the money gets refunded would anyone like me to rip it apart? like to see the cells inside or anything?. Figured why let it go to waste when it could provide a little insight.

yeah, however i did discharge it fully. shouldnt stuff it up like that though i guess. he refunded my money only after a lengthy discussion in broken english. He wanted me to return the battery to him, didnt happen. Now if only the battery worked and i got a free 9 cell :(
