9 cell 7200mAh anybody get one of these?

I'm going to get one on Tuesday , but i'm starting to wonder if i should go for a 6600 or even a 4400 mah battery instead ?

 

Got my 7200 mAH on Friday, so far it seems realy promissing.

I have read that someone had a problem with a battery from this user but he got good support. Is the battery ok now or did you get a new one or what happend?

Or is there any new battery that i should get?

 

Well I could send it back to him, but it would cost as must to send it there and back so there's no point and I don't feel like taking another chance. The battery never got better. Basically I'm stuck with an over sized 2200Mah battery...

 

So has anyone completely discharged their 9 cell battery and recharged it? If so how long did it take to completely recharge the battery?

 

I did it and let me give you an advise:
Turn your Netbook off if you want it to be loaded in a reasonable amount of time (read: in less than 6-7 hours). The powerplug isn't realy powerfull, so if it has to power a running Acer, there is not much spare power left, to charge the Netbook.

 

Agree - I charged and discharged mine 4 times (2 to 4 is recommended) and it took a couple of days though I didn't monitor it constantly. Charges quickly now and gives me 9 hrs.

 

UPDATE!! For user's concerned about buying from Digi100!!

Well I posted earlier about how my battery from 100digi was faulty. Today I went to the post office to pick up what I thought was my Dell 1390 card. When I got there the lady told me I had two packages! She pulled out my wireless and and then a battery! So I am pleased to say that 100digi, without me even sending in my broken one, sent me another battery free of charge!! 100digi is great in my opinion.

I have purchased one of these batteries from 100Digi and after a speedy delivery and use for over a week now, I am very happy with the product.

 

Desroches: How's the new battery holding up? I am also thinking of purchasing a 9 cell from the same vendor (100Digi). Good idea or should I try another vendor?
BTW: Has anyone tried this battery under OSX? How many hours are you getting?

 

The battery is great so far! I think the reason the first one was bad was either due to the -45 weather we were having during the delivery period or because someone was careless while it was in delivery. I recommend 100digi, buy from him. He was really good about responding to my messages. I have dual boot with OSX and XP; OSX gets about 7 hours If the screen is on low dim and I'm running word and itunes(atleast that's the reported time). I did the seasoning that is recommended (3 full charges and discharges), but never checked with batteryinfo if it actually helped me get more life. Any more questions?

 

I just got one of these batteries from ebay and something doesn't quite seem right with it. It seems to run as if it is 7200mAh but the battery reports itself as the exact same as the standard 3 cell from Acer. Basically after 2-3 hours the battery says 0% power but it just keeps running. I'm running the latest bios (3309) and from other topics on this forum people seem to think that causes some issues with 3rd party batteries. Anybody else have any Ideas?

I have run a couple cycles of full drain and full charge but I guess I should have been a bit more clear. BatteryMon is telling me max capacity on the battery at 100% is 24420 mWh, that just doesn't seem right to me since my original 3cell shows 24287mWh.

I also checked the battery info with Battery Eater Pro, I get a cell count of 3 in that application.

 

For those who have 'conditioned' their Li-ion batteries by deep-discharging 'em: from what I've read, this is the perfect way to ruin your battery. Li-ion batteries don't need conditioning.

 

I thought so too but the instructions that came with mine said very cleary to do it to extend the use time between charges.

 

So, i am using this Battery for some time now and i am realy glad that i bought it. Battery life is in the same area as stated in most comments, 6-8 Hours depending on usage.
The pictures make the Battery look a lot bigger than it realy is (okay, compared to my old 2200 mha it IS bigger, but seen on its own its okay). In addition to that (and i never thought i would say this), it realy is quite comfortable to write with a raised Aspire keyboard (i normaly use flat ones, even for my desktop).

 

Just got a Ugoogle-Ebay battery in the mail. Took about 10 business days to get to California. Battery fit nicely and had about 44% charge. Used it for a few hours and charged it overnight. On my linpus model, kpower showed 10 hours remaining after a full charge. Within an hour of use it dropped to saying 8 hours or so. After 3 hours of use it reported 5 hours remaining. At this point I am estimating I will get between 6-7 hours of battery life. Much better than the 2 hors I was getting on the 3 cell battery. I am taking this baby on vacation next week to Hawaii, it will get a work out between browsing at the airport and the kids (and I ) watching movies on the airplane. I ripped 2 movies and 4 episodes of Dexter to xvid-avi files and they play great on this little machine.

I will report back once I use this battery a few more cycles. So far so good.

Update: Feb 27, 2009> After a week on vacation, Battery works fine. Holds a charge for close to 8 hours. Watched movies all day long on the airplane no problem. Recharges fine.

I bought my battery aswell from 100digi at ebay. The battery is working great! I get about 6½h using Crunchbang. Big fan!

 

just ordered one of these. I got tired of having to search for a plug after 2 hours on campus. Hopefully this will help.
