    When I visit http://support.acer-us.com/
my screen presents a variety of links about other companies' customer service.

Is there I link to an actual Acer customer-support page?

Yesterday I ordered Restore CD (Vista home premium) via a seemingly mediocre webpage that only asked "street address", which in my situation (small town) is different from my mailing address. If the CD is being shipped FedEx or UPS, no big deal. If the CD is being shipped by USPS, the item may be returned to sender. The ordering process was insufficient. For instance, Amazon's is far more sophisticated.

I'd like to call or email or web-form a real person in Acer customer service but have found the links on http://support.acer-us.com/ to be bizarre.

Concurrently, I'm wondering if the w7 Acer offered as a pre-sale promise will arrive in 2009.

Looks like the support.acer-us.com is a non acer site now.

You can access support by thier main site (http://www.acer.com or acer.com.au etc) then click services and support, then click support enquires and then be prepared for poor English, typos and the like as you lodge your support ticket. You will end up at http://helpdesk.acer.com.au but not sure if you can start directly there. Not that the URL they send out willbe wrong (containing an extra period)

Acer doesn't give an email address out to customers for support, feedback, enquires and comments.
You will have to use the ticket system and hope the person you get can answer your question, which I doubt. They may be able to put you in touch with someone who might know the answer.
