AA! USB link to camera

    Please, how can I download images from a digital camera to an AA1 using USB link?

    Have you read your cameras manual? Pretty sure it would be in there.

    It really does depend on the camera. Some cameras use a proprietary interface and so you need to use their software while others use a standard interface and will be seen by your computer as an external storage device.

    Thanks to all who responded. The responses indicated that Canon cameras do not always
    have a simple USB interface.

    Looks as though gphoto2 which is on my Aspire one may provide the answer.
    Must look into it further.
    Pity its graphical interface, gtkam, does not seem available for the AA1

    There are a lot of people that come to this forum that know nothing about Linux and almost nothing about computers. For these people I would like to mention that the graphical interface for gtkam may not be available for the version of Linux being used but that does not mean that it can't be used with the AA1. If you were to install the proper version of Linux on an AA1 then gtkam would run fine. I have not heard of any OS that would not run on the AA1, just that some require more effort than others.

    Not answering your question but a quick way to copy pics is to read the camera's memory card via the card reader.
