I have purchased an Acer Aspire one.I cant run anything with a graphic interface.Graphics info says it is capable of max 229mb graphics and a minimum of 8mb.Mine is set to use the minimum. How do I change that? I went to bios but it wont let me switch graphics settings. Please help.

Graphics memory allocation is changed dynamically, depending on how much memory is needed.

If you are using 32 bit colourdepth, and running on the internal screen at 1024x600, your AA1 uses 4x1024x600 bytes of graphics memory = 2.457.600 bytes or 2400 Kilobytes, or 2,34375 Megabytes, so no need to allocate more than the minimum possible 8 MB, leaving more of the system memory available to your OS and applications.

Start up a game or a program which requests more memory for bitmaps and backbuffer etc, and the system will automatically allocate more memory, up to the maximum of 224 Megabytes.

When just at the desktop I have the same information as you posted, from the Intel driver app.
When starting up a game such as Microsoft Freelancer, the report changes to this :

    Driver Version: 6.14.10.4926
Operating System: Windows XP* Professional, Service Pack 3 (5.1.2600)
    Default Language: Danish
    DirectX* Version: 9.0
    Physical Memory: 1011 MB
    Minimum Graphics Memory: 8 MB
    Maximum Graphics Memory: 224 MB
Graphics Memory in Use: 47 MB
    Processor: x86 family 6 Model 28 Stepping 2
    Processor Speed: 1595 MHZ
    Vendor ID: 8086
    Device ID: 27AE

So as you can see, no need to worry, and no need to allocate a fixed amount.
If you are having issues with running "anything with a graphics interface" (You do realise that Windows is a graphics interface, right ?), its something else that is the matter. Try telling us WHAT program you are trying to run.
