Free lesson today, I turn the AA1 on and get my headphones out (for music), and "Oh my god is that a laptop? Can I look at it please?"
Cue 55 minutes of randomers playing Volleyballey on it hehe,

Yeah, they should have added an "insert coin" label on it (instead of "Storage Expansion") and your AAO would become even cheaper

Can't wait to take it to school

haha, when I brought this machine to skool, people were like, OMG! is that a laptop?
omg! thats so small, how can you work on that?
My teacher was like, OMG, thats soo cute! I gotta get one of those when I get my next paycheck!
and then... I get really annoyed, because people keep crowding around me!!

Carrying my Toshiba around is a real PITA. The battery life sucks so bad (less than 1.5 hrs) that I have to cart the power cable along too. Needs infrastructure almost. My A1 is refreshing. I can slip it into my scrub's cargo pocket and it doesn't pull my pants down while I perform procedures and escort patients around. I won't make a habit of that since all it'll take is some blood or barium to slop into the ports and I'll have a real mess on my hands.

Since I am definitely the coolest guy at work this machine can only enhance my already pristine image...

Why not attach it to the lock slot just below the power button?

Are you really so shallow that you would cover up the Acer logo? I just ordered the white Acer AA1 160 GB/6 cell and I am proud that I only spent $399 on it. It will help offset the $1100 I spent on my wifes iBook!!!

    Cheers

there is a video on youtube, where a Mac fan shows its AAO booting leopard, but the funny part comes when you see the apple logo in the center of the lid as a REAL mac...

    priceless...

But then you don't have the money to go hang out at the coffee shops so people can see you have an expensive Mac. :D

Is it cool? Well, depends upon your definition. I can write proposals and memos on a plane without taking up the entire tray area, I can walk around with it and hold it without wearing out my wrists. I get my work done quickly and save my back from lugging around an 8 pound behemoth.

I've had more tech and non-tech people ask me about this. I had a mother of 2 in an airport ask me about it and wanted to get one for her kids. I've had sys admins want them to be able to check on server status from anywhere. And I'm working to see about getting a bunch ordered to be used in schools for kids. All in all, I've probably sold about 10 of these just walking around.

Now, is it an Apple or Sony? Or does it have all the bells and whistles? No. But with today's economy, I'd rather have my loyal AAO and pocket the change then blow my money on anything else.

Oh it DOES make you cool . . . especially when you have the AAO as your "second unit" which you use only on weekends on hotspots or when you attend meetings and use it to take notes, launch presentations, etc.

ESPECIALLY when it comes with the internal HSDPA modem with a SIMcard slot for 3G networks . . . GAH!!! I just can't wait!!!

Are you sure they were referring to the Acer? I have had to demo my AA0-150 so many times I reckon I should get some advertising revenue from Acer.)
