AA1 Messenger Emoticons Missing!

I'm the proud owner (I think) of a new AA1 with Linpus Linux OS. I am also a new Linux user. I managed to successfully turn on the so called Advanced Mode and install Skype. However, I have since experienced some issues with my AA1 ever since. The Emoticons in the default IM application have mysteriously disappeared! I only have one IM account (Google Talk) in case there are any conflicting issues. Can anyone help me get my emoticons back? :?:
