did anyone get a black screen for like 30-40 second while booting up..? as in a blank screen with arrow... I'm wondering is there a fix to it?
I can record a video of it and post it if anyone wants me to.

That is unusual... What version of Windows 7 is this?

EDIT: just saw the last part of your video..... Try uninstalling AVG. See if that helps. ;)

AVG 8 has been known to increase boot up times.... this would be amplified if you have the uber slow SSD of the AAO. Just try it. If it's still the same, reinstall. What's there to lose? ;)

What Windows 7 build did you use? Is it like that when you 1st setup Win7? Or it just came up recently?

That's just about ok already.... now trim down the startup apps and services you don't need, that will further reduce the boot overhead. Disable Indexing on all drives. Disable NTFS last access update on the registry.

You just think there's nothing, . There are actually quite a number of preloaded system services that are automatically ran upon boot up. This is for the experienced windows user though, since you might inadvertently disable a required service and brick your Win7 installation. Proceed with caution. Do a search for windows services that can be safely disabled. Cheers ;)

TIP: run msconfig , uncheck the system services you think you don't need... same with the startup tab. Good luck. :)

Ok in that case, I guess you'd have to live with your boot times... hehehe lol

I think this boot time is rather good. It's interesting that you also only have this simple green loading bar and the (C) microsoft logo during the booting process. Because "big" strong pc's get a really cool animated Windows 7 instead of this simple loading bar. I firstly though this is incorrect, but I seem's that every aspire one (netbook) -user get's only this basic boot logo (maybe because of the limited video memory and gpu?).

Nope not the video memory or gpu, the fancy Win7 boot up splash screen has a minimum requirement of 1024x768.... anything lower will default back to the simple progress bar. ;)
