abrubtly shuts down??

So here's the problem. As soon as I turned on my aspire one, it went straight to the safe mode selection screen. But when I try to start it up in safe mode, it says that there is a file missing. Then it just abruptly shuts down. So I'm not sure what I did, but now when I turn it on, nothing comes on. Just a blinking underscore. I tried to do the F10+Alt to bring up eRecovery like the website says, but the machine turns off before it can complete. What kind of problem is this??? Can anyone shed some knowledge, or is this just a faulty netbook that I have? Much Mahalos!
