    Guys honestly this was a life saver. I am playing games flawlessly now. I have been searching up and down for a mod to the stupid intel graphics driver to make it perform better and now I look no further. Check this place out kinda confusing at first. Basically delete your old graphics media accelerator drivers from add/or remove programs and than to what this guy says.

    Here is the link:

    This works only for windows xp, which it says...
    The files tab is on the right side of the web page where you download the notepad document. it isn't a .ini file so you have to just copy and paste the text into the file he says to paste it in. good luck everyone!!!!

    Uninstalled driver, replaced .inf file and tried to install but it doesn't work. Trying to install via the setup.exe file causes an "unknown error", trying to install manually via device manager gives an "a service installation section in the INF is invalid" error.

    Hey,

    I think you have a problem with installing because maybe you used the downloaded file from the google group as if it were an .inf file? It is just a word document, so I just copied all the data from that and pasted it into the .inf file that needed to be modified. Try that?

    I have the same problem! It installs then says it isn't Windows Logo approved or something a few times then says an unknown error occured and quits. XP says it found new hardware VGA controller or something but I didn't have drivers! I really would like to get better performance on my AAO! And I didn't download the file, I just copied and pasted (deleting the rest first)

    If you try to run setup.exe after modifying the igfx32 file, notice this part

    * NOTE: This document refers to systems
    * containing the following Intel(R)
    * chipsets:
    *
    *
    * Intel(R) 946GZ Express Chipset
    * Intel(R) G31 Express Chipset
    * Intel(R) G33 Express Chipset
    * Intel(R) G35 Express Chipset
    * Intel(R) G41 Express Chipset
    * Intel(R) G43 Express Chipset
    * Intel(R) G45 Express Chipset
    * Intel(R) G965 Express Chipset
    * Intel(R) Q33 Express Chipset
    * Intel(R) Q33 Express Chipset
    * Intel(R) Q43 Express Chipset
    * Intel(R) Q45 Express Chipset
    * Intel(R) Q963 Express Chipset
    * Intel(R) Q965 Express Chipset
    * Mobile Intel(R) GL40 Express Chipset
    * Mobile Intel(R) GL960 Express Chipset
    * Mobile Intel(R) GLE960 Express Chipset
    * Mobile Intel(R) GM45 Express Chipset
    * Mobile Intel(R) GM965 Express Chipset
    * Mobile Intel(R) GME965 Express Chipset
    * Mobile Intel(R) GS45 Express Chipset

    The 945 chipset is not listed. This is most likely why it is failing.

    I can't detect a performance difference between the 6.14.10.4926 and the modded 6.14.10.5002 drivers in 3DMark2001SE or 2003.
    Not tried any opengl stuff yet though...
