Hi, I had to change the wifi adaptor from the Atheros one ( stopped working)to an Intel one. As a result I cannot get the hardware radio switch to turn. It is usually FN + F2 but this doesn't work.

    I am running Win7 32 bit

I have one - removed all the Atheros drivers and been through regedit to remove any lingering remnants

    Installed Intel Proset/Wireless software

Updated the bios and chipset drivers.

I note that the bios has atheros boot which i cannot remove

All that happens is the wifi radio switch turns on when i boot up and then immediately switches off.

I cannot get it to restart.

    What am i doing wrong?

I recall in an earlier post at this website that only Broadcom wireless adapters would work in Aspire Ones in lieu of Atheros units. I have no first hand knowledge however.
