can you install a usb port from an acer 5920 on an acer 5517

i know that i will have to solder them to the board i just want to know if it will work before i even bother soldering them to the board

if someone could tell me if it will work it would be great thanks

Physicially soldering new ports into a motherboard shouldn't be a problem provided:
    1. You don't damage the motherboard durring port removal (solder pads can lift and tear off from the wrong temperature soldering iron)
    2. The motherboard you're putting them into doesn't have a burned out USB chipset.

P.S You can goto your local Jaycar or similar electronics dealer to just buy brand new ports, to save the risk of damaging more than one computer.
