Just wanted to let everyone know that this distro works amazingly well, literally once you get a os x compatible wifi card, everything works! Make sure to read the whole thread for tweaks and such!

    Good luck!

*Edit: Sleep doesn't, but Hibernation does :)

Thanks for the tip, hibernate is perfect for me. Also the torrent for the lastest iPC distro only took 4 hours to download.

True, this guide worked perfectly for me. :p

The only left bug that... bugs me is the lost sound when i wake my One up. Hopefully there will be a fix some day. ^^

Thanks for this. Just a couple of questions:

    1. Can I multi-boot XP and this OSX distro (I already have XP installed, booting from MBR)? Which bootloader would be in control after this?

    2. Can I squeeze this distro into an 11GB partition?

    1. Yea, it will use the PC-EFI/chameleon-12 bootloader . just make a partition before you begin installing OSX thats how I did it using a program called partition magic.

    2. Yes I believe its 8GB for the install

    Good luck!

Does everyones hibernate work? I have done the iPC install with 10.5.6 final and followed the instructions to the letter twice and finally did my own variation and I have yet to be able to get hibernate going. I get a kernel panic every time. My BIOS is 3309 and every time I have installed iPC with the Voodoo kernel as per the instructions above. I am also on an A110 with the SSD swapped for a Toshiba 1.8

I moved from a nicely iAtkos 10.5.5 install to iPC for hibernate but I just keep getting these KPs. What is everyone else's experience?

Success! The install made the OSx86 partition active and therefore the Darwin/Chameleon bootloader was in effect. I copied the chain0 bootsector back to the XP partition, added an entry in boot.ini and made the XP partition active. The boot menu is now controlled by ntldr again.

I descoped all of the non-English stuff and the initial install was ~6.5GB. With the hibernate file its back over 8GB now but still fits in my 11GB partition.

    Thanks for your help.

    Issues still to be resolved:

    • UK keyboard mapping[/*:m:322oa0c1]
    • Touchpad preferences (tap to click and pointer speed)[/*:m:322oa0c1]
    • Install compatible wifi card and/or driver[/*:m:322oa0c1]
    • Invalid hibernate image after non-hibernate shutdown[/*:m:322oa0c1]

I have had a degree of success with hibernate. I installed the following:

    • ClamshellDisplay.kext[/*:m:1nnliwhd]
    • SmartSleep.prefpane[/*:m:1nnliwhd]
In the SmartSleep preferences select "Hibernate only" - do not use normal sleep. Now when I close the lid the AA1 hibernates and switches off. If I do a normal shutdown then the hibernate image is still used and the boot process will just freeze. The workaround here is to force poweroff by holding the power button for 5 seconds and then using the "-nowake" kernel option at the next start. It would be good if there was some way to invalidate or remove the hibernate image when a normal shutdown is performed.

I have clamshell kext installed (twice), have already set my sleep to to hibernate only and have removed the hibernate file via various methods and still no success. Did a clean build again absolutely sticking to redlines instructions to the letter and still cant get hibernate going. I am stumped and can only think their is something unique about my hardware somehow.

If anyone else has had the same problem and managed to fix it I would love to here it.

AAO 110, 1.8" PATA, 1.5GB RAM, BIOS 3309, SticMAC audio drivers, voodoo kernel

Same problem here : first installed with iatkos and no luck with hibernation, so I tried the iPC tutorial following the instructions to the letter and no more hibernation. I tried lot of stuf but nothing to do.
I have a AAO 110 and I was wondering if hibenation is not working only on AAO 150 !??

Does anybody has AAO 110 with hibernation ?

This is very interesting and I would love to give this a try but my Atheros AR5007EG wireless card is working great under any Windows OS I've tried. What would be the best & low-priced OS X wireless card?

The hibernation is working for others with A110. I have converted to a PATA 1.8" drive and had exactly the same hardware as someone who reported to me that theirs worked following the iPC install guide.

The Dell 1390 works out of the box on OSX (as its the same card in the MacBook Pro's :p)
eBay is the best place to get them. I got mine for £11 including shipping :)
Windows drivers are available from Dell's website and this cards works out of the box on Ubuntu too.

This thread might help for the UK key layout (just stumbled upon it on the original thread): http://www.gyford.com/phil/writing/2005/11/20/using_a_british.php

To get the tap to click and pointer speed to work, download the OS X 10.5.5 Keyboard.prefpane HERE: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=c3cfc670494d9f62d2db6fb9a8902bda, then go into /System/Library/PreferencePanes and replace Keyboard.prefpane

    Good luck!

    Thanks again for your help.

I had started work on my own keyboard layout file using Ukelele and it is almost complete. It looks as though the layouts available in the link provided could save me some time and effort though.

    Yay! Trackpad preferences are back!

UK keyboard layout still needs some work though. The "\ + |" key between the left-shift and Z keys is still not mapped and the Euro symbol is mapped to ALT + 2 instead of ALT + 4.
