I have read one or two posts on the forum about people not being able to put their AAOs down. I think it may have to do with the fact that the machine is so well designed that one is driven to just keep configuring it. It seems to take everything that I throw in it's direction, and then comes back with its own surprises. I really liked the HP Mini 1010's screen and keyboard but am glad to have chosen the Acer... for now. ;)

Are we becoming addicted or will it pass?

Oh, it will pass, but for now I find I'm using my Acer One more than my 24 inch iMac, so that says something :)

They are quite spiffy machines though....

agreed, I love it, especially since switching to windows 7. So fast to just pop the lid and check your forums/email, compared to booting up the big beastly pc.

It will pass - truth. But at the moment I'm taking AA1 everywhere with me. Like many of us I'm using this little machine more often then my desktop PC and with my new Xperia X1 gadget AcerAspireOne is just perfect mobile companion. I'm addicted, but it's good addiction :)

Windows 7? Wow, there are an awful lot of hard core nerds on this forum like vinistois adding all kinds of OSs to the AAO. Judging from many of the comments here, I think the machine appeals to an elite group (seriously).

Tip: A subtle but nice modification in Firefox is to install Greasemonkey and the FFFFFF to EBEBEB script. It modifies the contrast in a subtle way that allows one to focus all day long on the AAO. However, everyone here probably already knows that one. ;)

I put Windows 7 on but every time after a few hours of use it would inevitable die and would need a fresh install. So now I'm trying Vista.

I'm sorry--is there a Win 7 Beta generally available online?

Same here..even though I have a Quad core desktop machine with 4GB of RAM and a 22" screen I keep using the AAO more.. I guess it's because I can use it anywhere at home instead of being restricted to the computer room.

i have spent the past couple of days trying to get my young one's AA1 8GB wifi to work and finally manage it, but during that time i learn alot about this little machine. I have the 120GB of AA1 and it sit nicely on my lap. Both are running Ubuntu 8.10 The designer must have gone to great effort to get this just right.

And like the previous person said you cannot put it down
