    I did it!

Just installed my touchscreen. It took me the best part of 4 hours because I wanted to do it right at the first time and was a bit nervous about it. I didn't feel the cable management was as horrendous as it is said to be - it takes time, patience and brains but is doable without having a nervous fit. Because I was uncomfortable with the idea of doing it on my expensive A150X-3G, I bought a used A110L "8gb ssd" off Ebay for a low price (especially because it included an additional 6-cell battery) and used it as my guinea pig after installing XP on it. It works fine, micro and webcam work fine too. I gave up about adding internal bluetooth as I don't know soldering and was not that bothered.
I am now going to try it with Linpus and Ubuntu. If you know of any software install problems for these 2 Linux systems, please tell me.
When I've finished, I'll sell it on Ebay (without the extra battery), hopefully at a profit ;) and do the mod again on my own AA1...

Simbeb, congratulations on your successful install ;)

I've also been considering doing this mod for some time now, and I guess I have no reason to hold off any longer. Do you recommend the screen and seller you used? What's the quality and fit like? How was the service/delivery time to the UK from the ebay seller?

    Thanks!

The Ebay seller ID is onetouch4sale, he has 637 feedbacks, 98% of which positive. He's in Hong Kong, as you would expect and waiting time is about 10 days. He's insistent that he will provide support if you're stuck doing the mod, which is reassuring. The screen is plastic, so not fragile unless you mean to break it. at only 0.9mm, it fits perfectly under the bezel. Supplied with 3 styluses in different colours. Drivers supplied for Windows 98 to Vista, all flavours of Linux and Mac OS, but you have to download them. The install guide supplied on a PDF file is useless. Instead I used the videos from the 2 links below. Yes, I would recommend this one... :D

I am wondering if anyone has done this with an AOD250? I have 2 of them I would like to add touchscreens to but have heard there is very little if any space to fit the controller board in a 250 model.

    Thanks

Great, and thanks for the link too! I see there is an option on his ebay item to make an offer - did you make him an offer, or purchase at the 'buy-it-now' price?

    Thanks again.

I just bought my 2nd one and offered £39. I immediately regretted as it was automatically accepted. So try a little lower and tell me how low you could get a price for it! ;)

Okay, I'll bid now and see how we go ;)

EDIT: just offered £30 and I got the message "Your Best Offer has been sent to the seller - Good luck."

    I guess the seller has set auto-accept offers between £30 - £39.

EDIT again: Just tried £39 and got the same message. It wasn't auto accepted. Can you post the item number that your offer of £39 was accepted for?

    Thanks.

Hey Jerryt, I see that you said that if you use CN11 you lose usb function from the left side of the ONE, I soldered onto this port, and I have all of My USB's active. I have bluetooth dongle on the wifi D+ D- points. and still no loss with usb functionality.

Hope it stays that way :)

My left external USB port was very intermittent, this motherboard has had some abuse as a test bed for all these mods, but the source of power was certainly the problem because it is rock solid after moving the power away from CN11.

I read of another person on this forum having this same problem, so CN11 must use the same power circuit with the left external port???

Are you touching the correct side of the touchscreen. Verify your wiring.

I have this same exact issue. Whenever I touch the screen it goes straight to the Windows button. I'm running Windows 7 on a d150. Any help would be great.

Did you put the Shock Absorber Rubber around the LCD/Touchscreen correctly?
Some times if you tighten the screws of the LCD bezel too tight this will cause what you are describing.
    Which screen did you buy?
Some connectors come from the left side of the screen, others come from the right bottom.
Where does your connector come off the screen?

I had that problem, I took the front LCD cover off and glued 1 nylon washer were the screws go, that spaces it out perfectly you can get them at Lowes or Home depot and there cheap

    right, re the D250...

I asked fidohub whether his kit for the 150 would fit the 250, he said he wasn't sure as he'd never tried it

however another seller (visualtouchworld) are selling a kit which they say fit the d250 so I've bitten the bullet and purchased this. Once I receive it and have had a go at fitting it I'll let you know how i get on

Anyone knows who on Ebay is selling for sure the older generation glass one? I bought the flexible plastic one from Visualtouchworld, an not only does it not work properly (calibration does not get it right and power to webcam too weak), but it produces bubbles between the screen and the touch screen. Very p~$*&~'d off. Please help!

I am afraid you will have to email each Ebay seller.

By the way Windows 7 calibration worked for me, it is in the control panel.

I know where the calibration tool is, I just said that it didn't work for me. Nor did the other ones anyway, that's why i am actually blaming it on the hardware. I've removed the touch screen and I'll try to send it back and claim my refund. Waste of my time... :x
