My aoa150 contracted a virus that disabled my antivirus. Went to do a sys recovery, no problem, right? At end of System Recovery, got an error: Cannot format the object drive. press OK to return. <ok> Restore failed. click OK to restart the computer. <ok> black screen with a blinking cursor in the upper left corner.

I have an external which I thought to restore from, only it tells me "NTLDR is missing", press ctrl+alt+del to restart. Any ideas?

I am having similar problem. Except mine is stating it cannot run anything because everything I try to run (with exception of power on and power off) has a virus. Though everything probably doesn't have virus, this virus makes it seem as if it does and refuses to run anything that might get rid of it.

I have tried to do eRecovery from desktop and get warning message.

I can partially through running eRecovery from a disc (made from a download from Acer's site), but about halfway through the virus kicks in and says it won't go any futher because files have virus (although files are from the recently downloaded eRecovery from Acer).

Is there a work around? How do I boot to DOS and then run eRecovery from disk?

I think OP and I have same or similar virus, which is why I am posting here instead of a new post.

UPDATE: The Alt+F10 method from another thread seems to work for me. Keeping my fingers crossed as this virus seemed like a vicious one.
