The wifi adapter inside is a Atheros AR5007EG. I am having major connection issues. I tried the driver out of the box from MS. No go. I tried the driver through Windows Update. Still problems. And being desperate. I tried the latest XP drivers. Which I heard they have worked. While it is working better with those. I am still having connection issues. Especially dl a big file. It will just stop and lose connection. It was doing that even with the previous drivers through MS. Please help me. :(

The latest from Microsoft Update is 8.0.0.238 from October 2009. But on the Windows Update catalog I found 8.0.0.279 from January 2010. I'm going to try that, but the fact is that AOA150 wasn't made for Windows 7, so a solution may never present itself.

I tried both 8.0.0.279 and 9.0.0.163 (from a Russian website - hm . .). Same problem, loosing connection during wireless backup.

Had the same problem since I forst installed W7 beta over a yera ago and nothing seems to cure the Wifi-problem. That's why I am eager to lay my hands on the 532G when it arrives =) ...whenever that will be. Acer is very bad at publishing info on there site.... -_-'

I'm not too sure this is a driver issue. My D250 has the same Atheros AR5007EG Wireless mPCIe adapter and hasn't had a single problem. I'm currently using Windows 7 Ultimate x86, with the Atheros driver from 21-09-2009, v8.0.0.225. I can't remember but I dare say they're the OOB drivers from Win7.

I'll see if I can package up the INF and driver files into a ZIP and upload them for you guys to try.

But having said this, I sincerely doubt it's a driver issue with the WiFi.

You have a newer netbook though. Mine was the first model of the Acer netbook. Even though the wifi card is the same. The actual hardware card could have had a revision or maybe different firmware? Just a guess.

Change the card settings in the device manager, something like "powersaving = disabled" prevents the card from disconnecting during long downloads.

Made sure to do that when installing. Still have the same negative results.

Does it happen when you are on AC power or only the battery?
