I'm trying to find out if the sound card (chip set) in the Acer Netbook AOD 260 is only half duplex or does it support full duplex?

Don't see anything at the Acer site, and nothing mentions if it is or is not capable of full duplex operation. I also see nothing in the setup or configuration of making it work full duplex.

I'm really hoping it is capable of doing so, if it doesn't it'll be the first time since I bought it a few years ago that this little Gem has let me down. The ONLY draw back I find is the keyboard is too small to do any fast typing. No big deal when I absolutely need to type fast I connect an external USB Keyboard. This is not my main computer, it's used for very specific reasons and does very well doing that.

OK, it works. I was having a problem because I had the mic input disabled in the control panel. Enabled the input and it did exactly what I was hoping it would do, and sprung to life. I'm running a SDR (Software Defined Radio) for VLF that covers from 0 to about 22 KHz which is to hear Earth signals not commercial radio stations. Naturally occuring phenomena, things like lightning, Aurora Borealis, Meteors etc create natural radio signals that can be detected in those low frequencies. The mic input is used for the antenna input. Once again a great little computer that does a LOT and hasn't let me down yet!
