Acer One Mail : am I the only one to use it?

    I kept getting an error 'cannot connect to server' even when the googlemail server was blatantly up and running. Unticked the box next to 'this server requires authentication' and it seems to connect now!

    Did you follow macles* instructions as regards to making Sun Java the default Java? Still doesn't work with OneMail?

    Thanks macles. Three months later OneMail came back to life - with no changes to Java or anything else. The network instability issue may be caused by not rebooting for an extended period. I am not the user so I can't be sure. Now the user is complaining about links in Google alerts. Wish I had more time to deal with these things (OneMail is a useful KISS app if only Acer would issue a minimal upgrade . . . . with printing etc.
