acer plastic case question

    so i was given a Acer aspire one d255 10.1 inch laptop in exchange for a motherboard replacement on a friends laptop and the plastic case is damaged but the laptop works perfect I have a gateway lt40 that is basically the twin to this laptop I'm curious if I can put the gateway screen plastics on the Acer the gateway has a bad motherboard but all I need is the screen plastics
