Hi, after taking my aspire one apart I think i didnt put the touchpad cable back right, now when I try and boot the netbook up it will freeze on the OS bootup screen (where the bar moves from left to right)

If I try it without the touch pad plugged in everything is fine!

Any ideas on what has happened, have I broken the M/B or do any of you think I have just damaged the touchpad?

    Please help.

Hard to say. What you can do is open AA1 and unplug and plug back cable for touchpad and keyboard... See results.

I've done what you said when it first happened, but to no avail. dont really know what to do now, when the computer boots with the touchpad connected it freezes, then if i remove the touchpad when it has frozen the computer completes the bootup its really strange.

In that case I would carefully look at tape and connector - check if there is no short between contacts and all contacts have the metal conductor in ZIF slot...
