AcerIM

Could anyone help me get hold of the original IM without restoring? I can't find the packages anywhere.. just wondering if anyone can help before I resort to a thorough sift through the restore CD!

 

Mine is simply listed as "acerim" in Pirut, is it not listed there?

 

Not after being uninstalled, no It's not in those repositories

 

Hmm.......Not entirely sure what to suggest. Sorry. Anyone else got any ideas?

 

I got it back!
I just aimlessly copied several folders that felt relevant and got lucky Most notably (in case anyone else cares), open up the recovery USB image, run hdc1._ through bz2 and then tar, and check out /usr/acer/lib

 

cool, i ran that custom desktop script and lost acerIM, its soo much better than everything else, as it does video.

Sorry Jay I`m a linux noob when it comes to the command line,i have the folder you said needed running ...but could you explain how .I tried mounting it and untaring but all seemed to reveal nothing ...? thanx ..

 

AcerIM not working

My instant messaging desktop icon is not working. I delete my accounts and now the IM is not working any more. Can anyone help me, please? José from Spain
