AcerTravelmate Hotload 32/64 bit Windows Pro OS

Purchased this machine based on advertisement of 32 / 64 bit Hotload windows 7 Pro OS. This is not as advertised, the procedure to switch from the default load of 64 bit down to 32 bit is a complete reload. You must put the machine into recovery mode then choose 32 bit.

Its advertised as a simple one time choice that you can make from the running operating system that its booted into.

Talking a user thru holding down alt keys and clicking options on the bios screen is too complicated for the average user to follow and wastes the time of IT and the business paying for the IT time.

ACER is false advertising the level of involvement in changing between 32 and 64 bit and I will not be recommending ACER machines to offices. By the time we get this machine loaded into 32 bit mode it will have cost the business the same money as it would have cost to purchase a Dell machine fully loaded with Office , windows 7 Pro 32 bit, and a full 5 year NBD warranty.

ACER has wasted my time for the last time and I will rant about this to anyone who asks for advice on purchasing a laptop.

I spent the past hour trying to learn about Acer's "dual hotload" 32/64 bit Win-7 for a client needing a 32bit WIn-7 pro pc. TigerDirect sent me to Acer, and 3 phone calls (apparently to India) later had absolutely NO information. (They told me to buy it first, then call with the s/n!) Thanks for your post.
